The animals are well cared for. The park was clean and beautiful. On a Monday afternoon the first week of summer break it wasnt too busy at all. We cant wait to go back!

4 /5 Liz Mat: I honestly enjoyed my first visit here except the cashier lady that was mean. She gave me a change of $14, and when coming on my way back I decided to purchase something for my daughter I gave $10 that she gave me back to her and she told me she won’t accept it because it’s dirty. She also did not want to exchange the umbrella I bought for my daughter because it was damaged. But the zoo itself was fun even though it was raining.

5 /5 Arielle Romano: Great place to bring kids, friends who are visiting from out of state, or for a day date! Calm atmosphere. BRING CHANGE as there are many coin-operated food dispensers which opens up a lot more opportunity to interact with the animals. Some animals/birds are rescued, others are donated. They have free roaming peacocks and an area for flamingos where you can hand-feed them (this is my favorite part). The flamingos are friendly and happy to engage with humans (as long as you have food) - the grass was roped off during this visit, but this is temporary - I have also been there when you can walk right up to the flamingos too. It’s never been too crowded when I’ve gone - there’s a good level of privacy so the experience is very personal. The petting zoo is also so fun and the staff is very inviting and informative - they didn’t hover and allowed you to just hangout with the goats/sheep and give them pets and treats at your leisure.

5 /5 Lauren: This Zoo was very interactive compared to others. Had many different animals for everyone to enjoy. Parking lot gets full fast so the earlier you go the better. We chose to buy our tickets at the door since purchasing online charges you a convenience fee. We did have to wait about 25 to get in but it was worth the wait. This Zoo was clean and well kept. Animals seemed happy and friendly. It was super fun feeding the flamingos and being around nature. The gift shop was a decent size with many different items. Overall, would definitely recommend!

4 /5 J Abbs: Took an Uber, but plenty of free parking. Enter through the gift shop. We took the left loop 1st, going counter clockwise. There are 2 outdoor areas of parrots, flamingos are here on their own because of food. Make sure to take in the animal presentations, very informative and fun! Fun experience for kids as well. Make sure to grab some flamingo food. The petting zoo has the usual critters. If you want to hold a pole with a parrot on there for photos, you have to get the $5 ticket at the gift shop. The hut in the back has snacks and drinks, but there may be a long wait. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The Bay - Aimee Fortner: I’m a little puzzled about why such a large board with corporate ties with conglomerates with not great track records is left in charge of this and how these deals are made that leave the taxpayer holding the bag with little transparency. *Note - See public private partnership history: “While they are supposed to save money, P3s often cost more in the long run and are host to poor working conditions and accountability issues. And in the end, it is us, the public, who foots the bill” These board members are linked to companies that have had histories of using child labor from other countries and here in the US. Time will tell if they are really acting in integrity and good faith of the whole community or if they are just using regular people as their piggy banks for developments. If you look at the current Federal administration and follow the NJ casino history of debt problems, I’m not so sure this will turn out to be a good deal for Sarasota as it appears a similar pattern is being followed. I see a lot of luxury development going on, but not much that addresses the growing wealth gap worldwide as so called “masters” are busy planning communities.

North Lido Beach - Sarasota Adrianne Kearns: The beach was beautiful and not super crowded. Parking was tough and its a bit of a walk to the beach where its less people but it was so worth it!

The Sarasota Childrens Garden - Sarasota S G: My little one had fun walking around to see all of the different areas in the garden, my favorite parts was that a wagon was provided and dress up store for boys and girls! Uneven pathways, watch your step, my son took a little fall so if you have small ones just make sure they are aware of walking carefully since their feet are tiny and can get stuck in the cracks.

Tibbals Learning Center & Circus Museum at The Ringling - Sarasota Fittin to Learn ya: 55 acres of beauty. Sad that the hurricane took out the beautiful rose garden. We elected not to do the tour of john and Mabel’s home because the hurricane damaged the house so only bottom floor was open to tour. The museum and grounds GORGEOUS! Enjoyed the afternoon exploring this with my daughter who equally loved it. I’m not an art enthusiast but it was enjoyable in the art museums. We were wow’d! Right on the water, incredible landscaping and we learned a lot. Highly recommend!

Ringling Museum - Sarasota GR well: This place was way more impressive than I was expecting. To be honest, I had just heard it was a nice place to go and my parents were in town. The mansion is beautiful, if you like that sort of thing. My parents and kids enjoyed it - it is only the first floor, so it does not take very long. I had a friend compare it to Vizcaya in Miami and the similarities and differences were one of the most interesting parts to me, having been to Vizcaya multiple times. But we did not give ourselves enough for this entire Ringling Museum experience. The glass exhibit going on currently was beautiful, and then in the circus museum, we spent so much time looking at the very impressive miniatures, that it was suddenly closing time! This was obviously our fault - we arrived around 1, and had lunch at the restaurant, which was very good (multiple vegetarian options, my party of 6 is half vegetarian), and could never have seen it all by 5. We didnt even get to step foot in the art museum. So it seems like we will have to come back, we (2 seniors, 1 adult, and 3 kids ages 10-14) all had a great time. The playground is also nice - we were able to stay on that after closing for awhile (the slide is fun for adults too!).

Mermaid Fountain - Sarasota Paul Downing Gillen: A remarkable ceramic installation, rich in detail, and full of symbolic meaning. It is in a public park; no tickets are required.

Ringling Bridge Causeway Park - Sarasota Jon Barker: Excellent for unwinding, exercising, Swimming, fishing, romantic walks etc, etc. Very Clean , safe environment. Lets all continue to do our part by continuing to clean up after ourselves. I f you happen to see trash on the ground, Do our beautiful mother nature a favor. Pick it up and put in trash reseptical. Mable Ringling Rose Garden at The Ringling - Sarasota Lisa Mayer: We have been visiting the Ringling Museum since 1996. It underwent a massive renovation after the remake of the film Great Expectations. We moved here in the nineties and have learned much about the circus history in the area. The Ringlings mansion named Ca dZan sits on the Sarasota bay is magnificent, The collection of European art dates back to the 16th century. We love strolling the grounds, meandering through the Rose Garden, massive banyan trees, bamboo, annd all the shady trails. The Circus Museum was recently expanded. The historic Asolo Theatre was originally constructed in 1798 in Asolo, Italy.  It was dismantled and remained in boxes until the Ringling purchased them in 1949 and reassembled them at the museum. The Historic Asolo Theater had its debut Sarasota performance in 1952. There have been many additions to the campus include the McKay Visitors Pavilion, the Kotler-Coville Glass Pavilion exhibiting studio glass art, the Johnson-Blalock Education Building housing The Ringling Art Library and Cuneo Conservation Lab, the Tibbals Learning Center complete with a miniature circus, the Searing Wing, which houses special exhibitions attached to the art museum, the Chao Center for Asian Art, and the Monda Gallery for Contemporary Art. It is such a trmendous museum in a small city. If you love art, achitecture, nature or history this is a must see when visiting Sarasota.
