5 /5 GR well: This place was way more impressive than I was expecting. To be honest, I had just heard it was a nice place to go and my parents were in town. The mansion is beautiful, if you like that sort of thing. My parents and kids enjoyed it - it is only the first floor, so it does not take very long. I had a friend compare it to Vizcaya in Miami and the similarities and differences were one of the most interesting parts to me, having been to Vizcaya multiple times. But we did not give ourselves enough for this entire Ringling Museum experience. The glass exhibit going on currently was beautiful, and then in the circus museum, we spent so much time looking at the very impressive miniatures, that it was suddenly closing time! This was obviously our fault - we arrived around 1, and had lunch at the restaurant, which was very good (multiple vegetarian options, my party of 6 is half vegetarian), and could never have seen it all by 5. We didnt even get to step foot in the art museum. So it seems like we will have to come back, we (2 seniors, 1 adult, and 3 kids ages 10-14) all had a great time. The playground is also nice - we were able to stay on that after closing for awhile (the slide is fun for adults too!).

5 /5 Williams Elizabeth (Lizz리즈): I have come here a total of 3 times over the last 10 years, each time has been a joy. This last time, I realized there was an upstairs about the miniature exhibit. Can’t believe that I’ve missed it those past two times! Highly recommend a visit at least once! Right now, parts of the house and the Rose Garden is under repair: the garden from the hurricane and the house to restore it because of that, so do take notice of that. It doesn’t change how cool it is to see, still recommend you go but definitely pay a visit after the repairs!

5 /5 Tyler Boyle: Really neat museum and overall property. Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Was $30 per person and that allowed us to explore the grounds, which is neat botantical garden vibe, as well as go into a couple museums buildings for the circus as well as a big art museum. Theres also a mansion on the property that costs extra that we didnt do but def will next time. Def meant for adults overall but its a lot of fun. Would def recommend if you want a couple hours activity that is both indoors and partial outdoors

5 /5 Terry Brown: This is absolutely an amazing museum. Went thru approximately 20 galleries, some the size of a ballroom, none are small. Magnificent panels of beautiful art taking up the entire walls of one area. It appears a considerable amount of experience and effort taken to display top items in the Ringling collection. One of the staff explained to us that there are crates that havent been opened. Nothing was lost or damaged in the recent double hurricanes. The courtyard is well maintained, and beautiful statuary is in place. We spent 4 hours in the museum and then a lovely time at the restaurant.

Mable Ringling Rose Garden at The Ringling - Sarasota Lisa Mayer: We have been visiting the Ringling Museum since 1996. It underwent a massive renovation after the remake of the film Great Expectations. We moved here in the nineties and have learned much about the circus history in the area. The Ringlings mansion named Ca dZan sits on the Sarasota bay is magnificent, The collection of European art dates back to the 16th century. We love strolling the grounds, meandering through the Rose Garden, massive banyan trees, bamboo, annd all the shady trails. The Circus Museum was recently expanded. The historic Asolo Theatre was originally constructed in 1798 in Asolo, Italy.  It was dismantled and remained in boxes until the Ringling purchased them in 1949 and reassembled them at the museum. The Historic Asolo Theater had its debut Sarasota performance in 1952. There have been many additions to the campus include the McKay Visitors Pavilion, the Kotler-Coville Glass Pavilion exhibiting studio glass art, the Johnson-Blalock Education Building housing The Ringling Art Library and Cuneo Conservation Lab, the Tibbals Learning Center complete with a miniature circus, the Searing Wing, which houses special exhibitions attached to the art museum, the Chao Center for Asian Art, and the Monda Gallery for Contemporary Art. It is such a trmendous museum in a small city. If you love art, achitecture, nature or history this is a must see when visiting Sarasota.

Sarasota Art Museum - Sarasota Raegan “R Lin”: One of my favorite daytime activities is checking out any kind of museum, especially art galleries. This adorable museum can be the most pleasant use of an hour or two, and is in a great location just off of downtown Sarasota and very close to Siesta Key Beach. I’ve heard all about the Ringling Museum of Sarasota, of course, but didn’t know of the smaller Sarasota Art Museum that’s also on the Ringling campus. It’s not actually that small of a building, but compared to the average museum it’s a little on the smaller side with 3 floors and not all the space completely taken up. First I must say that the staff here made half the experience. Everyone was smiling and so kind and willing to help- Martha helped us at the desk and Karen was super sweet as well. I thought the layout of the museum was a little odd, but it is the historic site of the original Sarasota High School which they tried to still keep parts of so I’m guessing they had to work with what they had. Nonetheless, we were given a trifold pamphlet with a “map” laying out where everything was- except they don’t include the newer and rotating exhibits so it’s really not actually helpful. There’s a main and colorful staircase or an elevator you can take to the higher floor galleries where they change out exhibits here and there. I really enjoyed the “Future Now” exhibit that was all about sneakers and how they’ve fit into culture and impacted it over time. They had a really impressive collection for this exhibit. And, they even had a fun interactive scavenger hunt where you had to find a list of shoes on display, mark them, and then you got a free sticker if you returned it to the front desk. The inner child in me loved this. The other exhibit I was not a fan of as the content was mostly really dark subject matter, and the artist clearly created from a place of pain and trauma but it was honestly a little disturbing. It wasn’t the type of art that speaks to me as much personally, but if that’s something you enjoy don’t miss this one. Normal admission for an adult is $20. I don’t think this is a worthy price unless there are new exhibits that really truly interest you and you’re dying to see. Even then, every second Sunday of the month it’s free admission all day so I would definitely come back then. We didn’t try the bistro but it is nice that there’s an option for food if you stay awhile. I’d say you really only need a solid hour or so to get through the whole museum.

Circus Sarasota - Sarasota Mike Zito: Nik Wallenda’s “Wonderland Illuminate” circus can be enjoyed by all ages. It features the Wallenda family on the high wire. There are other typical circus acts like acrobats, clowns and, this year, a camel act instead of horses. I am a volunteer here but admission is reasonable(starting at $35) and there is plenty of parking.

Sailor Circus - Sarasota Chris Gilpin: I go here for the trapeze classes which is coached by an awesome man (Willy) and the co-coach (Keith). Its a great time to run away and join the circus for a couple of hours. The staff and facility are amazing! ❤️

South Lido County Park - Sarasota Jammie V: Lido Beach is my family beach for over 30 years! Its changed but its still beautiful! Every side has a beautiful tranquility!
