Jaclyn Graff: This was my first Candlelight experience and it was amazing. Collins Quartet x Fleetwood Mac x The Sanctuary Fort Lauderdale Church x Candlelight Concert = The Best. I will definitely go again.
First Baptist Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale
Claude Tice: This used to be a really great church, I can’t believe the way they have let this go. The current preacher doesn’t wear a suit or a tie. I guess I’m old school. He talks like we’re a bunch of teenagers, and a lot of his sermons rarely mention a lot of scripture.. The former preachers were really good, even Pastor Welch was a better preacher than this guy. I hope the deacons will take this into consideration. It’s a shame we can have a pastor like John Haggee.

We also have a family worship place for parents who want to worship with their young children. And a nursery (0-2), family center for children (2-5), SurgeKids (5-11), Wired (middle schoolers), High schoolers, Vibe for young adults. All generations are welcome.

Danell McKeel: This church and their volunteer do nothing less than a miracle for homeless people. They have a soup kitchen, and they bring in portable showers and give clothing to the less fortunate. Thanks to all that pass on to help other. Thank you Evelyn Torrey for bringing my attention to this wonder place!

christopher teaney: Definitely a megachurch experience. If that’s what you’re looking for it’s definitely the place to go. Many services and a sanctuary that can hold thousands easily. School academy coffee shop (you have to pay for the coffee) great place with great people just money is required every time you turn around. Not much intimacy. Men’s room is very cognizant of us men taking care of babies too.

First Christian Church of Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale
Ariel W.: The First Christian Church of Ft Lauderdale was started by Maude Bollinger and Ruth Repp who offered Sunday school classes on Repps front porch to the Ft Lauderdale community which was only 143 people at that time. Church services were held at several locations in Ft. Lauderdale including the old Fort Lauderdale Sentinel building. In 1925, a benefactor donated land for a church at the corner of Southeast 13th Street and Southeast Third Avenue on the site of a former rock pit. Lumber to build the church arrived on Sept. 16, 1926. The very next day the Hurricane of 1926 destroyed the church records, lumber, the tent they were working out of, and all of their equipment. Two children and two adult members of the congregation lost their lives. The church rose from this devastating loss and completed the church building in 1927. A later expanded building incorporates the original church structure. I love a historic church and I was able to check out First Christian Church of Ft Lauderdale during a tag sale. They held the sale in their basement! I was amazed that there was a building with an actual basement in South Florida. The congregation was so warm and welcoming and I got invited to church service by Katherine. This church is gorgeous and you can feel the history within its walls. Church services are held every Sunday at 10:45.
The Church By The Sea - Fort Lauderdale
Neal Isaac: Friendly, loving congregation where the presence of God is felt. Where the less than perfect are more than welcome.
