  • Solomons Castle - Ona Mary Dettmer: Solomons ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of the most unique places weve ever visited!
Solomon’s Castle is truly a hidden gem in Florida. The mirrored exterior is eye-catching, and the inside is even better—every room is filled with quirky art, clever puns, and recycled creations by the late Howard Solomon. The guided tour was funny, informative, and full of personality. You can really feel the heart and humor behind everything. Don’t miss the Boat in the Moat restaurant—a totally one-of-a-kind setting. This place is perfect for families, road-trippers, and anyone who loves unusual roadside attractions. We stopped in for the Sunday Tour after a fun day on the Peace River. Totally worth the trip! Thanks for a fun visit, Mary & Peggy
Hardee County Wildlife Refuge - Zolfo Springs Drew Z: We were happy to see this place fully re-opened after limiting hours for some repairs. This crew did an amazing job of rebuilding the walkways and adding some habitats. Great to see animals so well cared for.
Pioneer Park - Zolfo Springs Michele Gentile: I was just driving along and I saw water and I pulled over and found this beautiful little historical area. Pioneer Park some of the original downtown is still standing. In the middle of the state here going east is very beautiful. If youre ever traveling up 64 or 70 and you see water you need to pull over its usually part of one of the rivers flowing through. Very relaxing and some even have benches and tables.
Veterans Memorial Park - LaBelle Albert Bevilacqua: very interesting town
Barron Park - LaBelle Gockley Tam & Alan: Cute little park you can fish at with restrooms.
LaBelle River Park - LaBelle Don Browne: Newest park in the LaBelle area, with several miles of trails along the Caloosahatchee River and through a wooded area to the north side of the park. A picnic table and parking area is located at the head of the trail and a porta-potty, unfortunately pretty dark inside when the door is closed.
Kid Jones Park - LaBelle Bruce K.: Kid Jones Park was finished in 2009. It features LaBelles only covered and illuminated basketball court. The park spans 3 acres and features a playground, covered pavilion, quarter mile walking trail, baseball fields, and restrooms. There are several picnic tables and a swing set plus a large covered pavilion available for rental. It looked in excellent condition with no trash. Lots of open space for picnics and kickball or football. The park hosts the Black Heritage Festival, which takes place on the third Saturday in May.
LaBelle Heritage Museum, Inc. - LaBelle Don Browne: Located in the historic district of LaBelle, this is the best place to research local history with some interesting documents, photos, and exhibits of days gone by. The volunteer staff have a vast knowledge of the area and can answer most questions or lead you where to go further on local history.
LaBelle Nature Park - LaBelle Anne Amor: LeBelle Nature Park is a short but scenic trail, heavy with foliage that makes you feel completely off the grid. It’s the kind of place where you can just get lost in nature for a bit, away from the noise. Parts of the trail run along the water, though it’s mostly raised rather than a beach—except for one small spot near a pavilion where I could climb down. The best part? Dogs are allowed, which was a huge plus for me. It’s not a long hike, but it’s a great spot for a quiet, refreshing walk with my pup. Definitely glad to have found it.
Hendry Complex - LaBelle Don Browne: Under construction for many years. The fairly large neighborhood park is not quite complete yet and residents still wait for it to be open to the public. Located conveniently next to the local Southwest Florida State Colleges LaBelle branch.
