1 /5 Jillian Vega: If I could give fewer stars, I would. I hope my truth helps you to choose a different dental office... where you can be properly cared for... and treated like a real person.
I need a root canal. I have to go through insurance, like many people do. I have a broken tooth and an infection to boot. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic and said my infection was, and Im quoting here, "really bad." The antibiotic took four+ days to even start working, to take the pain away. Just over twenty-four hours after completing my round of antibiotics, the pain was already starting to come back. I could tell the antibiotics were either not strong enough, or I didnt take them long enough to get the infection completely under control. So, I called this dental clinic back. The doctor wasnt in, but I was assured that the doctor would be consulted, and I would receive a call back with an answer. Well, I did NOT get a call back. I waited a few days, which left me in further pain and discomfort. So, I called again. And, once again, the doctor was not in. I explained that I had called before, not long after completing the antibiotics that I was prescribed during my original appointment, and that I never received a call back from anyone in their office, even though I was assured I would receive one. This time, I at least got a text message from someone in the office, which read as follows:
"Good morning, Jillian. After talking with doctor, he is not going to refill the prescription. Thank you, Waterside Dental.
Reply STOP to end."
Really? I have a scheduled appointment to have the root canal done, which could easily be verified. Its not like Im asking for pain medication or anything out of the ordinary. Theyre leaving me in pain, with a "really bad infection," and will do nothing to help me, even though Im trying to help myself. Im absolutely dumbfounded. My root canal appointment is three weeks out, from now! I guess Im just supposed to be in tremendous pain until then.
Not to mention, they only use two endodontists offices to refer out for root canals, and if they arent in your insurance network, then oh well. Thats why my root canal appointment is so far out. I had to research and find my own endodontist, who takes my insurance. Both of the places they referred me to wanted me to pay in full, up front, out of pocket. And, when I called the dentists office back for a referral to a different endodontist, one in network for me, I was told to use one of my other referrals, because they dont have generac referrals, only to the two places I was already given referrals for. I pray that works, and my insurance company doesnt deny it because Im not going to the place listed on the referral.
