1 /5 Isabela Lopes: Absolutely Disappointing and Embarrassing Experience – Never Returning!
I had one of the most uncomfortable shopping experiences at Anthropologie, and I’ll never shop there again. I found a pair of pants clearly marked with a sale tag, in the sale section, along with several other identical pairs in various sizes. When I went to the cashier, she abruptly told me that “someone” must have put the wrong tag on them — as if it were my fault or I was trying to cheat the system.
I explained that I found them in the designated sale section with multiple identical items marked the same way, and instead of acknowledging the store’s mistake, she made me feel completely dismissed and uncomfortable. She offered zero apology, zero accountability, and worst of all, no discount or gesture of goodwill for the store’s error.
While finishing my purchase (which, in hindsight, I wish I hadn’t made), she started chatting with other employees about removing the rest of the pants from the sale section — a clear indication they knew it was their fault. Yet still, nothing was done to make it right for me as the customer. No empathy. No solution. Just awkwardness and a sense that I had somehow done something wrong.
I walked out of the store irritated, embarrassed, and honestly, disheartened. I used to love shopping at Anthropologie — but this experience completely ruined it for me. You don’t treat customers like that. Ever. Zero stars if I could. I do not recommend shopping here — especially if you expect even the slightest bit of customer service or decency.
