4 /5 Kate T: The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the food was good. My mom and I ate here on our first night in Florida. It was really nice to just walk downstairs for our meal, since we were exhausted from driving all day and it was late.
Our meals started with complimentary buttered rolls paired with dipping oil (excellent!).
My mom really enjoyed her oyster dish. They were exactly what she had been craving. I ordered shrimp pasta, which came with one side. I chose mashed potatoes and asked them to add butter and garlic.
They definitely did not skimp on the garlic. This ended up being a good thing because my shrimp meal was pretty bland. We were eating close to closing and there werent many staff around. No one asked us how our meals were. I ended up mixing my potatoes into my pasta, and enjoyed that concoction. The portion sizes were generous.
I would recommend this restaurant to other hotel patrons, or to anyone who wishes to enjoy a more upscale meal in a charming, historic setting.
*Since I was a guest of the hotel, I had access to the dining area later in the week, so I took some extra pictures to add to my review before the restaurant opened one day.
