3 /5 Sean Varney: I just visited Bahama Breeze Island Grill. When I walked in, the restaurant looked nice, well-decorated with a good atmosphere. I was seated in the bar area with a menu, but it took quite a while before anyone came over to take my drink order. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, and there were plenty of servers around, so it wasn’t a case of being short-staffed or the kitchen being overwhelmed.
Since it was happy hour, I ordered a half-off appetizer, the coconut shrimp. It was decent, though it probably could have been cooked a little less. For my main dish, I tried the blackened mahi tacos. The fish was delicious, but the tortillas were cold, tough, and hard to bite through, so I ended up just eating the filling.
My server was friendly, but overall the experience was underwhelming. I’m probably not going to return.
