1 /5 Filomena Botwin: Very disappointed I have to write a review like this. I live 5 minutes up the road from Cobalt and have always liked the place. The food is usually solid and the views are beautiful. However, on Sunday I went for a birthday celebration and got the seafood tower for two. As pictured below, the tower looked great but the lobster had a foul fishy smell when brought to the table, the shell was dark, the meat was pink, no white, and very slimy. Serving it was a health violation in itself. We had to set a timer from the time we took a bite of something near it in case of food poisoning from contamination. We sent it back and the waitress said she and the chef smelt it themselves and it was definitely not right. They replaced just the top part where the lobster was with another lobster that still was not fresh and didn’t offer to comp anything (all we ordered was two drinks and the seafood tower for two). At that point my boyfriend and I didn’t want to eat any of the seafood from here and obviously took nothing home. They sent out what seemed like a store bought slice of flourless chocolate cake that was hard to swallow. Sad to say I will not be returning nor will my family and I am appalled at the lack of quality control at an expensive restaurant that portrays itself as nicely as they do.
