5 /5 Charly Hillman: Oxford Exchange is one of those places that truly lives up to its reputation. I visited with my mom, my sister, and my best friend, and it ended up being one of those memorable, slow, perfect afternoons you wish you could bottle.
The space itself is stunning. The bookstore is beautifully curated and feels intentional rather than overwhelming, the shop is full of pieces you actually want to linger over, and the champagne bar adds such an elevated but welcoming touch. It manages to feel grand and intimate at the same time.
We sat down for lunch and the dining experience was fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere is bright, calm, and elegant without feeling stuffy. Service was attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. Our waiter struck the perfect balance of being present without hovering, and every interaction felt easy and kind.
The food absolutely delivered. I ordered the Caesar salad with the fried chicken and I cannot recommend it enough. The chicken was perfectly crispy and flavorful, the salad was fresh and well-balanced, and the portion was generous without being heavy. It was one of those dishes that sounds simple but is executed so well that you keep thinking about it afterward.
Oxford Exchange feels like more than just a restaurant or a bookstore. It is an experience. A place to gather, talk, browse, eat well, and feel inspired. Whether you are bringing out-of-town guests or just want a special afternoon with people you love, it is always a wonderful choice and one I would happily return to again and again.
