4 /5 Elaine R: This is a late review, because I dined tat this establishment with 3 of my girlfriends and daughter. We dined towards the end of November and ate outside. We were in between lunch and dinner hours and decided on hamburgers and sandwiches. The food was delicious, but what made our meal more enjoyable was the lovey Virginian man who waited on us. You see, my dear girlfriends from NJ was visiting and she has trouble with gluten. People with gluten problems can eat sour dough bread. That is something I didnt know until recently. In my girlfriends case she gets severely ill from gluten and blows up like a balloon with severe pain, so no wheat is tolerated. We were told by the kind waiter that there would be a $2.00 fee for the sour dough bread substitution. Surprisingly my quiet daughter spoke up and asked why the up charge when her auntie simply couldnt eat the bun the burger was served on? That is a good question, especially today with many people having trouble there wasnt an option free of charge on the menu. Keeping this in mind we chose to eat here instead of all of the other many good eateries in St Pete. We could have went else where and easily be accommodated for my friends dietary needs.
The end results was after my daughters statement the kind waiter made the gluten option happen without a fee. We are very thankful for his kindness. As for the restaurant, you need to rethink about your patrons dietary restrictions, especially since the swap of an upscaled bun easily matched the sour dough bread in price.
