Kyle Ramsey I wanted to share my experience with Hewett tire. Today my wife had a low speed tire blowout and she happened to be right near this establishment. I reached out and spoke to a gentleman named Ricky. Ricky offered to change the flat and put her spare on to get my wife going again.
We appreciate you and your associate helping in a time of need. We plan to return tomorrow for new tires. Thanks again.

Gabriel Skiles Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a mechanic shop.
I brought my car in for a relatively straightforward issue and was told it would be done in 72 hours. It’s been a month. Not only is my transmission now slipping when it was shifting fine before, but I was also charged multiple times for transmission fluid—yet nothing improved. It makes me question if they were even putting fluid in at all or just hoping I’d stop asking and eventually go away.
I specifically asked to be contacted before any additional work or charges were made. They didn’t. I just kept getting billed for fluid and “labor” while my car remained unfixed. They claimed no fluid should’ve leaked during their original repair, yet somehow it took 4.5 quarts to refill? I already had a receipt from 4x4 Automotive saying the fluid had been recently filled. If there’s no leak and none came out, why are we replacing so much?
When I asked to test drive it to confirm the problem, I was denied. Why? What are they hiding? And why are rocks stuck to the back tires like someone did a burnout? I never said anyone “dogged” the car, but everyone there got defensive, giving excuse after excuse about why they didn’t drive it. One guy even said he didn’t because he has a nice car—as if that’s relevant. The contradictions were endless: the desk guy said multiple people drove the car, but the supposed owner later claimed only he did. Then a mechanic with long hair admitted he drove it too. So who’s lying?
The mechanic who supposedly worked on it was never there when I came by to check or show what was wrong. Yet I kept getting calls saying the car was “done.” How convenient he’s never around when it’s time to be accountable. They even tried blaming the issue on it being an “old car,” which is nonsense. Plenty of older cars outlast new ones—age doesn’t equal unreliability.
At one point, they even brought me into an office and ganged up on me, yelling, belittling me, and calling me names. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. And then I hear about one mechanic supposedly working all night with no sleep—how is that supposed to inspire confidence? That’s dangerous, not admirable.
To top it all off, the mechanic publicly explained the wrong procedure for filling transmission fluid. I had to correct him—and I was still the one treated like the problem. I remained respectful the entire time despite the stress, delays, emotional toll, and lost work time this situation has caused me.
And now they’re recommending I take the car to their “friend’s” shop—how convenient. Why couldn’t they fix what they broke?
In short, I paid more than what was actually fixed, wasted time, lost wages, and I still have a slipping transmission. At this point, I don’t even think a refund would make it right. Which they didn’t give or offer. 2500 for just an oil leak and left with -2500 and now transmission issues.
Avoid this place at all costs. Incompetent, dishonest, and completely unprofessional.
