1 /5 Jen D: I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at A Winning Smile Dentist. Before my appointment, I clearly explained that I only wanted services performed that were covered by my dental insurance — I pay a monthly premium for coverage and wanted to avoid any unexpected charges.
The hygienist reassured me multiple times that everything being done, including the x-rays, was covered by my plan. Based on that reassurance, I went forward with the visit.
To my surprise, I received a bill for $112, dated April 10, for services my insurance apparently did not approve. When I called on April 21 to ask about the charge, I was told there was nothing they could do and that the x-rays were denied by my insurance — despite their repeated assurances that this wouldn’t happen.
This feels misleading and careless. I would not have agreed to the service had I known it wasn’t covered. It’s frustrating to be financially responsible for something I tried to avoid from the beginning. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone who values clear communication or transparency about costs.
