1 /5 Courtney Ferraro: If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to Dental Arts West Palm Beach for a new patient visit and I felt rushed. I was told that I would need a deep cleaning and new patient x rays. During the x ray process I couldn’t stop gagging on the mouth pieces. It felt like they were digging the mouth pieces down my throat and they actually cut my mouth in a few different places. I’ve never had that issue in the past when getting dental x rays. I was not in any pain when I got there, but I sure was in pain when I left the office.
The dentist came in for want felt like less than 5 minutes and only looked at half of my mouth said I needed a deep cleaning and had some cavities. They quoted me over a thousand dollars and when I told them that sounded awfully high. The receptionist recommended that I get a second opinion and if I decide I want to go forward with the work with them to call them and I was told that I did not owe anything so I left.
I called another dental office who saw me a week later (dental arts STILL had not sent the claim to my insurance company) and gave me a more affordable quote for the entire deep cleaning and filling for cavities, and started the deep cleaning (Dental Arts STILL hadn’t billed my insurance) so I never called Dental Arts back to do the work.
A week ago I received a bill from Dental Arts for the painful x rays after being told that I didn’t owe anything, and the other day I received a letter in the mail from my insurance company stating that they received a request from Dental Arts for the deep cleaning when I never gave them authorization to do so.
I called my insurance company and told them the situation and they apologized for the horrible service I received and told me to call Dental Arts and tell them that they will not be paying for any services and told me not to pay for them either.
Today I called Dental arts and told them about the fact that I went in pain free and then left in pain because of the way the x rays were done, and I also told them about my conversation with the insurance company and I was told by dental arts that she will call my insurance company and get them to pay and if they don’t pay it that I will have to.
I have never been to a medical office who treats patients this way.
