  • Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium - Fort Myers Robert McClellan: If you have a rainy weekend and are looking for something to do, the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium is an inexpensive and enjoyable visit where the kids might even learn a little something. The newly renovated Planetarium has super comfortable seating and the new projection system is truly remarkable. In between Planetarium shows they offer animal experience shows where the kids can get up close and personal with anything from a turtle, snake, or even a baby gator. The rustic trails are short but can provide some quiet time in between programs. Pretty easy to spend the day.. they dont offer any food, but there is a large covered area with plenty of tables for sack lunches or snack time. Always enjoyable.
Railroad Museum of South Florida - Fort Myers Everton Vidal Azevedo: Great place for train enthusiasts and history lovers. Small but well-maintained, with interesting exhibits and train rides for both kids and adults. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Train rides for adults and children over 6 years old cost $5. Perfect for a family visit. Definitely worth checking out!
Escape Room Adventures - Fort Myers mark lydecker: We played the treasure of the seven keys and it was awesome! The room itself looked good, the puzzles were challenging but doable and the staff were nice. Thank you escape room adventures for this wonderful experience.
Centennial Park - Fort Myers Lorrie Kola: Centennial Park in Fort Myers is a great spot for families!!! The views are absolutely beautiful, and the park is very well maintained. My boys had a blast playing in the nice play area. The cleanliness of the park really stood out, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy. I highly recommend visiting this park if you’re in the area!
Banyan Baum - Fort Myers St: The largest banyan tree in Florida!
Fort Myers Mural Society - Fort Myers
Ft. Meyers - Jacob Woodfall: I was able to get ice cream while riding a pogo stick
Burroughs Home and Gardens - Fort Myers Maryann Lazzaro: This is a very pretty outdoor venue. Unfortunately the traffic on the bridge can get a bit noisy. We did not get o side the main house as it was an outdoor wedding. Parking is across the street and about a block walk to the venue. The river view is amazing. The pavilion for the reception was nice and in cooler weather it would be more open on all sides for a better view
Lakes Park - Fort Myers Marijana TheQueen: Lakes Park is a true gem in Fort Myers, offering a peaceful escape into nature with stunning scenery and plenty of activities. The botanical garden is a highlight, beautifully maintained with a diverse variety of plants and flowers that change with the seasons. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll, photography, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. The park itself is spacious, with scenic walking and biking trails, large lakes, and plenty of shaded areas to unwind. Wildlife is abundant—you’ll likely spot birds, turtles, and maybe even a gator from a safe distance. There are also playgrounds for kids, picnic areas, and paddle boat rentals for those looking to explore the water. Whether you’re visiting for exercise, relaxation, or a fun day with family, Lakes Park offers something for everyone. The well-kept gardens and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit in Fort Myers!
Lee County Black History Society - Fort Myers Courtney McNeil: I recently enjoyed a wonderful and welcoming tour of the Lee County Black History Society Museum led by Mr. Charles Barnes, who is truly a wealth of information and knowledge. I was impressed at how much information was conveyed by the museums exhibits and their effective use of space, and I learned so much. I will recommend this museum to anyone interested in learning more about the history of Lee County and the valuable contributions of the vibrant Black community there!
