1 /5 Jane Dominy: If you have no other option than the Weems emergency room, I highly recommend you perform an internet search to double check the diagnosis and treatment! I went to Weems ER in 2023 for an infected eye. Dr. Patrick Conrad diagnosed me with a Corneal Ulcer, however; he treated me for a Corneal Abrasion. Unfortunately I trusted his care and did not check his treatment against standard care by reputable medical facilities. A week later my eye was no better and I went to another urgent care center where I was informed a Corneal Ulcer is an Ophthalmologic Emergency and I needed to see an Ophthalmologist ASAP. The ER doctor stated not only could I lose my vision but I could lose my eye! Long story short, after 10 months of seeing numerous eye specialist, I found out that Dr. Conrad prescribed an eye drop for pain which caused corneal melt (ate away my cornea), did not correctly prescribe the antibiotic dosage and never informed me to see an ophthalmologist. Because of the treatment at Weems Memorial hospital I now have permanent eye damage! If only I had googled the Cleveland Clinic (or other reputable medical website) I would have known that I had been mistreated and would have gone to an Ophthalmologist and would still have my vision!
