1 /5 George 305: I had a very disappointing experience with Key West Auto Center. I dropped my car off on January 13, 2025, and picked it up on April 14. Unfortunately, the two issues I initially brought the car in for were still unresolved when I got it back.
To add to my frustration, I noticed that the sunshades on the sunroof were open when I picked up the car, which seemed odd. Upon getting home, I tried to close them and discovered one was loose and wouldn’t operate properly—it just hung there.
When I checked the mileage upon picking up my car, I noticed it was significantly higher than I remembered. I reviewed the service order and saw that it had been rewritten in March, with the mileage entered on that date. The difference in mileage between March and April 14 was 30 miles, which is excessive for a vehicle with transmission issues that shouldn’t have been driven much, especially on Key West—a small island measuring just 1 mile by 2 miles. I can’t even imagine how many miles were put on my vehicle since I originally dropped it off in January.
I did speak with their new service director, who was brought in to resolve ongoing issues. He escalated my vehicle repairs and assured me on April 9 that I would have my car back within 48 hours, which should have been Friday, April 11. However, I ultimately received it back on Monday, April 14. Even under this new director, it seems that not much has changed, as they rushed to return my car without properly verifying the repairs.
Fed up with the lack of proper service, I took my car to another dealer in town, which is part of the same company but has a staff I trust. They are currently reviewing the car to address the ongoing issues. I was informed that there are numerous error codes stored in the system that were never cleared after the previous repairs, which might be contributing to the transmission problems I’m still experiencing.
Overall, my experience with Key West Auto Center has been incredibly frustrating, and I would not recommend their services or purchasing a car from them, as you’d likely have to take it there for service.
