  • TGMG Family Care Center Kennedy - Tampa Ariel Vega: Due to having a horrible experience with the Brandon location and no longer wishing to see the doctor, Sara Careers that told me that we never discussed medication refills which was the only reason for my appointment, I went there. Arrived 15 minutes early and took a half day off from work to wait in the waiting room for over 1 hour. Once called back I was greeted by the PA and she was WONDERFUL! Once my concerns for my mental health were being discussed, she went and got the doctor. I stated I needed a refill on my medications and due to the previous doctors negligence, I had to go on withdrawals from one of my medications and I was not willing to go back on it. After expressing my concerns, APRN E. Young stated "This is a referral appointment and the time for that is 15 minutes." They refilled my medication and then she told me I selected a referral appointment not a new patient. I told her I called in for the appointment and was not told this information. Also my primary care doctor was still the same one I did not want to see and she moved to their Trinity location and I would need to come back and restate all my concerns at my next appointment in 4 months for a new patient. She then told me I needed to see a specialist and I stated that I would have to pay out of pocket. She told me that my insurance does cover it. Then I told her I would need providers listed and then she asked what insurance I had. How could she state that my insurance covers this specialist if she didnt even know what it was? I left in tears due to the frustration and I dont cry easily. I also looked back in my chart and I seen her in 2020 after having my baby and then also in 2022 and 2023. So I dont understand how I am a new patient to her. I have been with this practice since 2012 and I will be seeking care elsewhere since money and time allotments were more important. Oh, They billed it as a new patient visit even though I have to go back for a new one. I called my insurance and they said since I already had a new patient appointment, they would not provide one for another 6 months. If you would like someone who treats you as just a number, go to any of their locations!
TGMG Tampa Palms - Tampa Mike McNamara: i won’t give any stars if that was an option. i started coming to see Chelsea Pierra years ago. i was prescribed lexapro and xanax. she went on maternity leave and i won my ssdi case and got medicare. i broke my back in 8 places in2007 and have an intrathecal pain pump that injects morphine and baclofen into my spinal canal so i could tolerate pain to continue to work as Director of agronomy at private golf clubs. i called and went for an appointment to refill my meds. The Nurse informed me the Chelsea was on maternity leave for 3 more months. i asked if she could just give me same scripts as last appointment. they had 2 refills and i could see Chelse when she returned and we scheduled appointment. i went to CVS and it was no surprise that she didn’t have refills incuded. i made an appointment and went back next month for refills again. i asked what happened to refills. i told her i was wasting time and money by coming in. she told me that i just had to call and they would call in my scripts. i went to cvs again and this time I only got 30 pills when bottle says take one tablet by mouth 3 times daily. that would be 30 days x3 a day=90. i called and of course the receptionist couldn’t get a hold of anyone. i called everyday and same thing with no returned calls. this medication you are not just supposed to stop cold turkey, you are supposed to wean off. everytime i got my bottles a different Dr’s name was on the bottle. i was also getting billed for these dr’s that i have never even met. they are committing insurance fraud and could not care less about their patients, as long as they were getting paid. I think the DES should check them out.
St. Josephs Childrens Hospital - Tampa Amber Kadlic: There is no better place than this children’s ER. From the moment we walked in all the staff was amazing. The nurses and doctors were absolute perfection with my 11-year-old son. Even the nurse putting in the IV for my little, was so gentle and sweet and funny. They made the whole experience so wonderful that he is absolutely not afraid to go to the ER. He even asked to go back to visit them.
USF Health Morsani - Tampa Wahid, Wade Abawi: This place used to be a really nice facility, but now you are dealing with rude head nurses who talk back to you. They dont do their job; you have to wait for weeks for your referrals to be sent. Heres a small portion of a letter that I wrote about the patients relationship. Dear Dr. Mosley, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to follow up on my earlier email regarding my troubling experience at USF Health. Earlier today, I requested to speak with a supervisor from the Primary Care Division and was introduced to Miss Lori Brock. I approached her with my concerns in a calm yet frustrated manner, hoping to find a resolution to my ongoing issues with medication pre-authorization. Unfortunately, instead of offering support or a listening ear, Miss Brock displayed a dismissive attitude, arguing with me rather than de-escalating the situation. Her behavior only heightened my frustration; it was disheartening to witness someone in a supervisory position respond in such an unprofessional way. When I requested to speak with her supervisor, she turned away with disgust, stating that she had "nothing to say" and returned to the facility without offering any assistance. I also would like to mention that I had an appointment with a urologist at USF. After the procedure, my penis and my testicles were infected, and one of my testicles was 10 times bigger than the other one full of infection. No one from the urologist Department, which is led by Dr carrion, ever called me to check up on me after the procedure. Usually, when you go through a procedure they call you a couple of days after to make sure youre okay, now Im going back and forth to the emergency room it seems like the infection has gone up to my stomach, and even to my upper back maybe around my kidney. This used to be a very nice Hospital now it seems like no one really cares and if you file a complaint they will just laugh it off this is absolutely unbelievable.
TGH Specialty Center at Healthpark - Tampa Rosey Ganoe: The wait is usually long for surgical followup...they have to be overbooked to make sure you get seen. Im always grateful for them squeezing me in when they can. Days are more important for recovery than the hours you have to wait. Dare I remind the complainers that TGH/USF doctors probably saved ther lives like they did mine? Its not dirty...just could use some updating...old buildings. These doctors are not getting rich off of us with the way health insurance is. I am forever grateful...they have a tough job and they dont need all of the complaints.
IMA Medical Clinic of West Tampa - Tampa Nancy Newell: I absolutely love Dr. Henson. I have never had a doctor, who takes time with you and thoroughly explains everything. The front staff are super friendly and everyone are helpful. I have been going here for two years and am very pleased.
BayCare Medical Group - Tampa Alan Peterson: They wanted a $10 co-pay. Okay, but they did not have change for a $20. Used my valid credit card, but she said it wouldnt work. I gave her my backup card, but she said it wouldnt work and she said it loudly enough for all to hear in the waiting room. When I suggested that it might be their system, she was snippy in insisting that their system was fine. While waiting, I checked my card status on-line and found no problems. She still insisted that their system was working. The next three customers that came up had exactly the same problem with their cards, but she still did not admit that it was their system. If they cant admit to problems at the front desk, how can we trust their medical opinions?
St. Josephs Womens Hospital - Tampa Eleanor: My experience was wonderful from beginning to end. I came in early Friday morning after my water broke at home. Jessika my nurse stayed with me and held my hand as labor progressed, until my husband arrived just in time to welcome our baby girl! The rest of the nurses and recovery nurse staff were also kind and considerate throughout the whole process, and I really appreciated that the nighttime checks were very minimal, so baby girl and I could sleep (when she wasn’t nursing ;) ). I’m so grateful for such a wonderful birthing experience!
Rangel Medical Center - Tampa Daniel Lopez: I called to get info the person hung up not once but twice
TGH Transplant Institute - Tampa John Nystrom: I had very high hopes... After the meeting with the staff and the transplant director, I was not impressed. My impression is they were arrogant jerks with bad attitudes that made you feel worse than when you walked in.
