1 /5 Peter Bainlardi: The hygienist who handled my cleaning did an excellent job. She consistently provided a great experience, and I have no complaints about her work.
However, my one-star review is due to the dentists policy of refusing to continue my cleanings unless I agreed to undergo unnecessary x-rays. If I had a dental issue that required further diagnosis or treatment, I would gladly consent to x-rays to ensure the dentist had all the necessary information.
That said, there is absolutely no justification for requiring x-rays simply to perform routine cleanings. While dental x-rays are "generally considered safe," they are not entirely without risk. Each exposure to radiation, no matter how small, contributes to cumulative damage to the body. This is a well-documented fact.
It’s frustrating to see a healthcare provider prioritize unnecessary procedures over the best interests of their patients. Just perform the cleaning without forcing patients to accept unwarranted risks.
This policy reflects poor service and a lack of consideration for patient autonomy.
