1 /5 Jessica Beneche: I recently underwent a hysteroscopy with ultrasound at this office, and while the staff was friendly, I had some significant concerns about my experience. I was told the procedure would be slightly uncomfortable, but the pain was much more intense than expected. I was only offered laughing gas for sedation, which was clearly insufficient for the procedure, especially with the added biopsy.
The procedure was incredibly painful, and I was not given adequate pain management or aftercare instructions afterward. I was left without guidance on how to manage the pain or any potential complications, which left me feeling unsupported as the Dr. rushed out of the room. Luckily, my boyfriend drove me home, as I was not in a condition to do so.
I believe there were missed opportunities to better manage my pain and provide clearer aftercare instructions, which I feel are essential for any patient undergoing this type of procedure. Communication could also have been clearer regarding my ultrasound results—an explanation was promised, but I was not given one.
While the staff was kind, I would urge the office to reconsider their approach to patient comfort, sedation options, and aftercare. I hope others have a better experience, but unfortunately, my visit was far from what I had expected.
