1 /5 Judy Strong: The tour guide, Maria, drove recklessly with my 6 year old son in the SUV. At one point she stopped moments right prior to a train crossing and we were inches from the train safety crossing gate hitting the suburban. When brought to her attention, she gaffed it off. She texted and talked on the phone while driving and really gave us no verbal tour. This was a self guided tour that was NOT advertised to us as such when I called. It was basically an expensive Uber drive to the advertise locations. I do not recommend Xplore Miami Tours!!! Safety is of no concern to this company nor did the tour guide provide any sight information.

Perfect right after our cruise in Fort Lauderdale! For the price you can not beat it!

This hidden gem is perfect for pups and their owners looking for a fun day in the water. First and foremost, the clarity of the water is impressive. On a sunny day, you can see straight to the bottom, making it easy to spot any toys your dog might drop. The cleanliness of the area is also commendable; it’s evident that the park staff takes great care to maintain this space. The layout is fantastic, with plenty of shade and seating for humans to relax while their furry friends splash around. My dog was overjoyed! she had a blast swimming and playing with other dogs, all in a safe and well-maintained environment. The surrounding park offers lovely trails for a nice walk before or after swimming, making it a perfect outing. If you’re looking for a great place to let your dog enjoy some water fun, Snyder Park’s dog swim area is the place to be. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

Davies: From sunrise to sunset, enjoy this scenic cove of nature, which doubles as a lazy marina where you can throw in some water sports on the Intracoastal. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Beach - Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Liz Vaz: Absolutely a beautiful beach. Paid parking traffic heavy at times. Kinda busy area. So much to see. Eateries everywhere. But the best part... that beach is breathtaking. Its a lifetime experience.

LauderGO! Water Trolley - Fort Lauderdale Gissella Lightsey: It is no doubt a great attraction to do in Fort Lauderdale and come on Its free. I will say it’s amazing if I could have had the 2 hours round trip I read about . Unfortunately I went on a Saturday and I got the ending of the stops by the Olas Boulevard Stop. Boat Lady was not in her best mood (all I can say because I don’t like to bad mouth people) … but I will try another day of the week to see if I get a better experience. Any way… grateful for the city of Fort Lauderdale that offers this service for free !! Amazing … After doing this boat ride .. you can enjoy a walk around .. for example I had a walk around Las Olas Boulevard … great … great time, great stores, great restaurants !!

World AIDS MUSEUM and Educational Center - Fort Lauderdale Rose I.: I went here around 2017 and was very impressed by the museum. It jogged my memory of those AYDS weight loss candies. I learned a lot too. I hope the museum stays open. I became aware of the museum while working in a county school when some people came in to the school to educate the students about risky behaviors and HIV and they mentioned the museum.

Lewis Landing Park - Fort Lauderdale Ariel W.: Lewis Landing Park in Ft. Lauderdale has quite an amazing history. Archaeological items relating to the Tequesta including animal bones, pottery shards,and shells were found in the park in 2010 indicating a village was here from 800 to 1200 A.D.. The Tequesta were Native Americans who lived along the New River for at least 5,000 years. They used dugout canoes to travel the river from the Everglades to the Atlantic Ocean. When Spain claimed Florida there were thousands of Tequesta but by the time they gave Florida to England in 1763 there were less than 300 left having been wiped out by disease and sold as slaves to Cuba. The park is named for the Lewis family who came from the Bahamas in 1792 and settled on the banks of the New River. They lived on a farm growing coconuts, guava, limes and oranges until 1824. It was believed that their farm served as a way station for the British who were trying to subvert Spanish control. In 1830, Frankee Lewis now a widow sold the land for $400. Ten years ago the park was a vacant residential property. It has now been turned into a river front park with gazebos, a jogging path, a fishing dock, an observation deck, park benches, picnic tables, and a water fountain. The only drawback to the park is that parking is extremely limited with one car parking spot and one handicapped. On January 24, 2015 a statue of a Tequesta Indian sculpted by artist Nida Comas was added to the park. Plaques on the pedestal of the statue provide information about the Tequesta people who are now extinct. This beautiful park is the perfect place to exercise, enjoy a picnic or just take in the beautiful water view. It is also a wonderful place to sit and contemplate the people who came before us who once canoed down the waterways.
