1 /5 Melodie Johnson: Oh my goodness! I have never had a member of office staff in a medical practice be so rude! Dr. Wharton came highly recommended, but after this I would never see him for any medical issues! My referral came to their office for unknown cause of abdominal pain and possible gallbladder issues. I was advised that it may be a month to two months out to see them, which I was more than willing to wait. The staff member all but refused to book my appointment saying that they had other patients that needed to be handled before me and I needed my gallbladder checked sooner, which I stated that I had my primary lined up for this and a surgeon if needed as well. She still refused to hear that I have other DIAGNOSED (via recent CT scans) gastrointestinal issues that needed to be addressed and the possibility of other gastrointestinal issues that warrant discussion and possibly testing with a gastrointestinal doctor. Kept insisting that I didn’t need them and that I needed someone else, she wouldn’t even hear me out about my other diagnosed conditions and hung up on me!! I will be contacting the practice manager for certain, but unfortunately a doctor that came highly recommended is now a practice I would never feel safe in! I have never been so humiliated and dehumanized ever by a professional office! For the record the entire call was on speaker and others heard the hurtful treatment and tone I received. I also advised the Palms of Pasadena Emergency staff of how rudely I was treated! Not to mention the office personnel also advised me that the call was on speaker and other office staff and a PATIENT could hear our whole conversation, which is clearly a violation of HIPPA since we were discussing my medical information! A HIPPA violation complaint is already in process!
