1 /5 Jean Clark: I have never had such poor care in all of my many stays in hospitals. The ER and extended stay ER was great, but once I was sent up to the floor of the main hospital the care was sub par. They never once brought me any way to wash up or brush my teeth in the 3 days I was there for Acute Kidney Failure. I was supposed to get up to use the restroom, but the aide didnt like having to come unhook my IV, and then come hook it back up. She yelled at me and asked why I didnt just use the bedside commode? I told her it was across the room and not set up for me. She got it and forcefully set it beside my bed. Then said, there, now use it. I also went into Afib. I called for help and no one came. I called again 15 minutes later. I was told that I would just have to wait, because they were in the middle of shift change. I had very little sleep and one morning, about 3:00am I heard 3 nurses and/or aides talking loudly. Their conversation was about how the crash carts were not equipped with the same items. That they had to run around to several crash carts to find what they needed. And yeah, hope your not overdosing on a medicine. It takes at least 15 minutes to get the norcan up from the pharmacy and by that time youre dead. Thats what I heard them talking about loudly outside of my room.
When they called me a couple of weeks later, I gave the woman an ear full. I pray that they made changes.
I am about to have surgery done. My doctor wanted to do it there. I told him that I would prefer to go to Bay Medical. After telling him why, he scheduled me at Bay.
Bay has problems too, but after I told them, I was told that it would be reported immediately. I pray they fix their problem.
