1 /5 Michael B: I made an appointment with Dr. Geer 3 months ago. I specifically requested a female PCP.
While I never met Dr. Geer, I was not treated with respect by her staff. When I arrived, I followed the directions of the office and checked in via their mobile website. The checkin was successful at 10:30AM (15 minutes before my appointment).
I waited in my car, in the parking lot. At 10:50AM I received a phone call from the office asking where I was. I told them I was in the parking lot. The woman told me that I didnt check in online. I told her that I did. She told me to head on up.
When I arrived at the desk, the lady felt the need to inform me that she was going to call "to the back" to inform them Im here, since I was late. I told her that, again, I checked in through the mobile app. I also showed her the screenshot with the confirmation She simply shrugged.
She was obviously confused with whatever she was doing on the computer. She stated that she couldnt find my insurance information. I told her "Some folks need to put in the AQT prefix or else it wont go show up". She replied "No no, I have your member ID". I said "Okay cool". A couple of minutes passed and she called over another staff member to help her. The staff member told her that she was missing the "AQT" prefix. She said "Ohhh! Thank you, that was so helpful!". Im rolling my eyes writing this.. because.. duh.
A moment later I was called back to the doctors office to have my vitals checked. The nurse mentioned "Im going to check your vitals and then HELL be right in". I asked "He? Im supposed to meet with Dr. Geer". She said "Yeah" and proceeded to check my BP (which I might add was above normal by this point since I was pretty annoyed)
She finished up, and I had to ask again "So wait. I specifically made an appointment with a female doctor.". The nurse nodded and replied "Well she was super busy because our systems were down this morning" (online checkin I bet) "so hes helping her out." I told the nurse, again, that I specifically requested a female doctor 3 months ago. She looked at Dr. Geers schedule and told me that there were a few patients ahead of me. At this point it is 11:15 and I was not planning to wait for however long that might take. I asked the nurse for a ballpark estimate and she replied honestly "I dont know". So I left.
On my "visit summary" in the AdventHealth portal it mentions "Patient left before being seen" - which is true. But the context isnt and wasnt clear. Thats why Im leaving this review.
