1 /5 Rosie117 Halo: I had a terrible experience at this orthopedic clinic. I was there for a follow up appointment but the night before I injured my foot. I told them that it was swollen, bruised and painful. The receptionist said sorry we can’t see you for that. That’s a different doctor so I did go in to see my doctor to follow up on my hip which was fine. I had been discharged from physical therapy and I told him about my foot and he told me that he did not do feet
I am so disappointed with the way that I was treated here. Nobody seemed to care about the fact that I had a painful, swollen, bruised foot. They did have plenty of excuses, though as to why the doctor could not see my foot.
In fact, the next day, I went to my podiatrist and they x-rayed my foot and it is indeed broken.
I felt like there was a lack of empathy in the office at UF orthopedic specialist. It’s hard for me to believe that any doctor that graduated from medical school and specializing in orthopedic medicine could not look at a foot and perhaps prescribe an x-ray and some guidance. Instead, I got sent on my way. I hobbled out of the building and I was told good luck with your foot. Luckily, I am able to advocate for myself and I found another provider, but I will never ever go back to UF Orthopedic Specialists.
I felt like the office did not care about me as a person and lack empathy for me. These are not the type of providers that I could develop a relationship with and trust for my care.
Next time I will go to Southeast orthopedics. I cannot believe that I have a fractured foot and I could not get the doctor at UF orthopedic specialist to even visualize it.
