We rushed him to this emergency clinic because we suspected he had suffered a stroke and possibly an injury. In his fragile state, he needed to be handled with extreme care. Instead, the veterinary technicians dropped him in the parking lot while bringing him inside. This level of negligence is inexcusable, especially for a senior dog in distress.
What made this even worse was their response. There was barely an apology, no real acknowledgment of what had happened, and no reassurance that they would take steps to prevent something like this from happening again. In one of the hardest moments of our lives, we were met with indifference instead of compassion.
Ultimately, we had to make the devastating decision to euthanize him. We will never know how much additional pain he suffered because of their carelessness, but the fact that it even happened is unacceptable.
Pet owners bring their animals to emergency clinics expecting competent and compassionate care. The veterinary technicians here failed to provide either. I would strongly urge others to think twice before trusting them with their beloved pets.
