4 /5 Dustin Ellinwood: I was stuck in St. Augustine during a long road trip when my front axle U-joints started clicking. Evan’s Automotive was booked solid but still made room to get the repair done quickly, which I genuinely appreciated — they had me back on the road in a few days.
The work itself seems solid — they used quality Spicer U-joints and spent several hours on the job. However, the total bill was $1,200, including $200 per U-joint, which is well above retail price. I understand there’s markup, but that felt excessive, especially when you can typically find these parts for $35–50.
I’m grateful for the fast turnaround and quality work, but I’d advise others to ask for a full breakdown upfront and be aware of pricing if you’re not a local. Fair work — just very high on cost.
