Amanda McMahel I wish this was my local VA. I had to drive an hour to this location due to the extent of my suffering but it was worth it for the care I received. The staff is exceptional. Friendly and welcoming. They listened to me and did their best to make me feel better. Hope they know how much I appreciate them. 10/10, A++, Love u guys.

Corruption Bad Cops and Government Workers My recent visit to this VA location was nothing short of disappointing. This facility exemplifies the substandard care that too many veterans encounter. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the quality of service here falls well below acceptable standards. One of the most glaring issues was the facilitys cleanliness. The environment had a distinctly unkempt appearance, which only added to the overall sense of neglect. When it comes to healthcare, especially for veterans, a clean and well-maintained environment is not just a luxury—its a necessity. Equally troubling was the conduct of the staff. Their demeanor was far from professional, and their communication seemed lacking in both respect and competence. It felt as though the staff were unprepared and unqualified, which is concerning when youre seeking care. Perhaps the most troubling aspect was the issue of policy falsification. It was apparent that there were discrepancies between what was promised and what was delivered. This kind of misrepresentation can lead to a severe loss of trust, especially for those who rely on VA services for their well-being. Overall, this location stands as a stark example of why veterans should be wary of relying on VA care if other options are available. The combination of poor facility conditions, unprofessional staff, and questionable policy adherence makes this VA a place to avoid if possible. I hope that improvements are made soon, but until then, veterans should be cautious and seek alternative care options if they can.

Jackie Lowe Excellent Excellent!! My Mom started getting sick and hospitalized in 2022 and it was hard to navigate. She was put in a rehab after hospitalization in fleming island where she was completely neglected. When I brought her home she threw a PE (blood clot in lung) because she had probably been left in the bed too long. I have to work a lot but checked in on her. I was told by the locals to take her to Lake Butler Hospital...what a major difference in care. I can actually leave and know she is being looked after. They exercise her, bath her, her room is super clean with bird feeder outside and a huge window. Has room to herself. Staff is excellent. It is short term ...she has been there twice. The first time she was so sick I know they saved her life. I couldnt recommend this facility more.

Brent Leguire I went in cause my foot was hurting so bad and swelled up. This dumb doctor didnt even look at it unfortunately discharged me with no diagnosis and now my job is threatening to fire me cause of the mistake of the paper work

Pamela Stebleton Cynthia should be the trainer for all people who work in customer service type field because she is the kindest person I have ever met.

Ed Ruben The emergency room was freezing. The blankets did not help. I was never offered food or drink even when my condition improved. All night I overheard the staff complaining about the other staff as I was located next to the nurses station. When I got home I realized they did not give me my clothes or my Drivers License back. I received no discharge papers again. I have been there before and did not receive papers the last time. Terrible experience for HCA.

Kayla Knotts Absolutely amazing service and wonderful staff that helped me out beyond what is expected. Made my baby ,who had to get her finger stitched up , comfortable , safe and did such a fast and steady job! Ide give higher stars if I could. !

Martin Qualls The staff here is amazing. Great care! It is amazing to find such a great team of professionals to care for your medical needs. I moved here in October and I have never had the support and care from a doctors office like I have here. You are not a number you are a patient

Candace Swanner-Ray My experience with Southern Internal Medicine has been extremely disappointing. Despite my husband’s serious health issues requiring ongoing care, he was abruptly dismissed as a patient without any explanation. We repeatedly reached out for assistance with critical FMLA paperwork—needed due to his frequent ER visits—but our calls went unanswered. This lack of communication and accountability not only jeopardized his care but also added a significant burden on our family. Sadly, it appears we are not the only ones facing these issues. I urge prospective patients to exercise caution when considering this practice.

Miguel A. Rodriguez Do not recommend them. My dad has been waiting for approval for 2 MRIs that were requested by a neurologist since April 2024. The doctors only approved one. We had to get a second order for the original MRI from the neurologist and delivered it physically because the original was never approved when sent via fax. Now come to find out theyre not approving it because he hasnt been seen by primary. Mt question now is: why did the primary office approve one and not the other since the original request? Why approve one and not the other, especially when a neurologist is concerned about a serious health condition?

Dennise Jean I’m from Indian Harbour Beach I am a former newspaper, photographer, and relocated to Lake City again .I was looking for a new primary ..this office is dirty the staff make the patient’s wait for an extreme amount of time while gathering in the back office laughing & joking, and not to be mean however, some of the staff needed to take a look in the mirror, and maybe take a bath the PA wanted to prescribe pills and I am not interested in taking pills she has a tendency to smirk at you as well .. I like to work through my anxiety.. they also charge you fees that are not required & tests that are not required in order to gouge your insurance.. this is my opinion ..I think an investigation should be open up into this practice and staff. I totally agree that this is not a right fit for me. Just look around when you go into the office also listen to what’s going on ..that’s all I have to say it speaks volumes. I would like to add after leaving the office. I went to urgent care, was referred to a Great primary when I went into the office of my new primary, the office was clean the staff were clean and professional, .. I felt so comfortable & I am on the road feeling much better & great health… needless to say not all doctors offices are good. This one certainly leaves much to be desired….Ps. I did call back and speak to Matt before I got everything resolved with my new primary I called him.. He does seem to have a heart & and genuinely cares.. the rest of the staff well.. just judge for yourself and take a good look at them even look at their arms & attitude.

Elizabeth Bell I called for my mammogram appointment today (9/19) and was told my appointment would be in December. That is ridiculous! 3 months to wait for an appointment. Ridiculous! I’ll be finding another provider.

satanyas mom I had a mammogram and ultrasound done here and I cant say one negative thing about my whole experience, including check in! Everyone was kind and the nurses were compassionate during the procedures. I highly recommend them!

Dianna James Not much to say about her regarding my needs. I mean of bad comments, except for holding your insulin refill unless you go see her. My boyfriend did see her and he’s diabetic and the price of the medication was almost & 300.00 and so he called her to see if the was any other insulin that was cheaper that he can afford and she told him that u must come back in to see me first. That’s ridiculous it’s like see me or nothing.

Kellie Coyte My new primary doctor. Second visit. She changed my medicine without knowledge. Fired me as a patient for being upset. Now wont give me a referral to an orthopedic so I can deal with my disabilities. I do NOT recommend her. She does NOT listen nor care about her patients. She just does whatever she wants.

The doctors are all very outstanding and have great attitudes . always clean and the playground keeps them busy while waiting. The receptionist is always awesome . Thanks for being great and always having an answer or solution to a problem...

Infantry Outdoors Very unprofessional office and staff. Hour and 30 wait to see the doctor with loads of excuses. Getting prescriptions filled with them is ALWAYS a issie of some kind on behalf of the office. Mind you we have used them for the last year and on more than one occadion my son went with out his meds for days. They patient is of no importace to them and they get to you when THEY feel like it. Forget appointment times here because your time is NOT IMPOTANT HERE! I will only continue here as a LAST RESORT!

Denise Wolfe I walked in in a panic with pieces for one pair and backup glasses hanging by a thread. I left with a functional and well fitted pair of glasses and an order for new pair. Thank you so much. Eyeglass ladies are great. Im picking up new glasses next week so Ill share again.

Trinity Roberts I’ve brought my granny here 3 times now because she needs new glasses. She’s been seen twice, each time we had to wait 3+ hours after her appointment time (which we’ve always been 15+ minutes early for). We waited 2 hours after her appointment time today before asking what was taking so long, the receptionist told us “there are still people who had appointments at 9 that haven’t been seen” it was 11:45 at that time. Idk if they’re just ver booking patients or if the doctors are just impossible to keep on track. I understand emergencies but waiting HOURS when you have an appointment is crazy to me. My granny never even got a new prescription for glasses after two appointments so every trip we made up there was wasted.

John Cathy Very upset with this office! I went today for my annual appointment to be told “your appointment was canceled.” Receptionist said “they called you 3 times to let you know.” I replied “No, I have had no messages from this Clinic.” The receptionist verified the phone number then asked “is your voicemail full?” No, my voicemail is not full and I got NO voicemail from this clinic. I missed 5 hours of work and had nothing to eat for over 14 hours (for labs) for NOTHING.

Joetta Bennett Went there five times about being itchy and I think that I contacted scabies but I didnt have any rashes they didnt bother to do a scraping to rule out scabies they told me to change my laundry detergent and soap that I could have sensitive skin then my insurance changed and I had to find another doctor but anyways I do have scabies so I suffered for months being itchy. They should listen to the patients more and they need to learn more about scabies that not everyone has tracts or have rashes and some people are just carriers.
