Lisa Lee Roehner After being told the motor on my Xb was unrepairable and getting an outrageous quote I called around for additional quotes on doing a swap & brought it here. Not only was my phone quote reasonable when I brought my car in they did a diagnostic & my engine was fine but my water pump needed replacement. My car was fixed the next day!!! Will be bringing my vehicles here from now on :)

Santino Studios Great people, they truly care about helping you. I got my brakes fixed and an oil change at a good price, but have had a problem with the hatch on my trunk for months. Bruce fixed the hatch for free, which made my day. Im so glad I found this place and will definitely continue doing business with them!

Campbell Kieran “Dude” Not happy at all. I thought i vetted this place well but i was not impressed. As a mechanic for 40 years i work out of my yard. I have no lift so all my repairs are on the ground with jack stands so i am limited. When i needed some diagnostic intervention of my truck i made the mistake of going here. At first it was Fine And then the owner got a bug up his ass and stopped attending to my truck. Never again and there are better places to take your car. The only bright point was the office girl Rachel. She was great. Very nice but 4 weeks later even she left. Go elsewhere !

Kimberly Pestana I had another mechanic try to rip me off and quoted me double for my repair. I went to Edgar and he took excellent care of me. He doesnt try to rip off women like some shops do. If you walk into a mechanic shop and theres a bunch of salesmen there, turn and walk out the door because theyre going to be highly priced and high pressure. I told Edgar he is going to get all of my business. I took a stack of his business cards and gave them to people at work. Highly recommend!!

Sonja Earnest So I was on my way home when I saw this place had a welding sign out front. I needed my side step repaired on my truck and took a chance that they could fix it, so I stopped and thankfully they took a look and said yes. The owner told me to stop by the next day and he would fix it. He was true to his word and did an excellent job and great price! I’m very grateful for their service! Julie Wolfe Called for a diagnostic. The person I spoke to attempted to diagnose over the phone. Told me I needed a whole new engine which would cost thousands. Really glad I called around because a competitor came and fixed the problem for $240 (parts, labor, entire visit). Don’t get taken advantage of.

Laura Zaim My car broke down on a Sunday while visiting from out of town. I had the car towed to their shop and headed home to Miami. The Main Street team called me during the week to keep me updated on progress and arranged for me to be able to pick up the following Sunday, without any extra charges for leaving my car for so long. I really appreciate their honesty and flexibility and how accommodating they were, even though we never actually met in person!

Deborah Odiorne I have used Main Street auto for the past 15 years. Tim, the owner, is very fair and honest. He is the best, not only in Sarasota, but the best that I have ever had to do work on my car. I would highly recommend his service. I am a single female and have no knowledge of cars, but Tim has never ripped me off and has always been honest. I personally would not let anyone work on my car but Tim!

Kayla Grimenstein While on vacation in Sarasota, our van broke down. AAA originally suggested a different auto shop but the guy there was a complete jerk and even asked why we got our van towed there, meanwhile since we arent from the area, we just went by what AAA suggested. On our own we found this shop and let me tell you how wonderful they were. The staff in general were so nice. They explained everything to us and kept us properly informed every step of the way. They also got our van fixed in a timely manner to where we were still able to enjoy the last couple of days of our vacation. I would highly recommend them to anyone and if we are ever back in the area and need assistance, we know where to go.

Everyone was so nice and followed up with when the car would be ready. When picking my car up, Chris was trying to locate a bulb for a running light that was out. Mike Campbell The staff at German Cars was fantastic. They did a wonderful job repairing my new to me 1996 SL Mercedes hydraulic top. They were very accommodating with several requests that I had made along the way. I would highly recommend them for any work on your Mercedes, Porsche or BMW.

Terry Such I took in my 1994 BMW convertible. These guys are great! Very personable,knowledgeable and priced well. This was my 2nd time in for 2 different issues. They ordered parts both times they thought might be needed, but didnt. The parts were returned and I was charged for labor only. AND...if they cant do the work, they will refer to who can!

Lori Liggett My new mechanic! Rick (owner) is very nice and explained exactly what was going on with my car and gave me clear, upfront pricing with no surprises. They replaced my alternator (Honda Civic) in two hours and charged less than what Google said is a normal price for this service. Im telling everyone I know if theyre looking for a good, trustworthy mechanic, go to Sarasota Motor Works. I wish I found them sooner.

Brad Sandoe I’m a snowbird from Indiana who needed some maintenance while in Sarasota. Found Sarasota Motor Works by happy accident...and I’m certainly glad I did! They found a mistake made by a previous repair shop that could’ve been disastrous and expensive! Rick showed me the problem, explained what needed done, and had me back on the road...safer than when I came in...in no time at all. Matthew Giles My AC went out and I could self diagnose a bit, but needed a professional to evaluate and do the work. The other guys quoted $500 for a diagnostic and $1,500 - $4,000. I took it to Doug and he did a free diagnostic and found out the compressor was needing replacement and even showed me how it went bad and why. He ordered the part and received it next day, then immediately began work and had my car ready before noon the next day. Super professional, super friendly, and super affordable compared to a larger shop. Ill be going back for any service needs and highly recommend him to anyone that needs an affordable option with top tier customer service and work. Also, Id like to mention that yes he does ask for you to pay upfront for the part. He has to order it and youre asking for him to trust you, when he probably hasnt known you for more than a few minutes, and he has a business to run. Hopefully you understand that covering the cost of the part upfront is a very acceptable business practice and the labor fees are due after the service has been done. I just saw a comment below that seemed to shock the person he would ask for money for the part before starting the job, and it seems unreasonable for him to eat the cost on someone he doesnt know.

E Mandujano Doug did an incredible job fixing my AC! He got me in quickly, diagnosed the issue fast, and had my car back to blowing cold air in no time. He’s a hard worker, and his prices are very reasonable for the quality of service he provides. I’ll be recommending him to everyone in my family! I also noticed some people complaining about diagnostic fees, but mechanics have to charge for their time and expertise—just like any skilled professional. Diagnosing an issue takes work, even if the customer decides not to move forward with the repair. Suncoast Auto Air & Auto Repair is fair and upfront about pricing, and I appreciate their honesty. Highly recommend them for any AC or auto repair needs!

Wayne Rumambi First of all this place is Awesome, Wednesday was my first visit Wow! Amazing when a company has knowledgeable and staff! Their technology is super and their communication systems is amazing good. Sabrina is super helpful and friendly she greets you with a smile and care to their customers by the time you walk in. Brown Mike (The Real Mike Brown) Ive been aware of the Jesses for more than 20 years. Recently I purchased my 2012 Volkswagen CC and this was the first place I thought of when I decided to do preventative maintenance check before driving the car for more than 50miles. Dakini (Dakini Kapalini) Thomas is the European Car Doctor personified. There is nobody I would trust my darling car with except him. Top notch professional with years of real hands-on experience. You get what you see, no nonsense. Honest and clean work. Thomas knows what he is doing. The shop itself is incredibly crisp and clean and so are his services. If I could, I would rate 10 stars! Highly recommended.

Timothy Stearns I loved the work Thomas did on my vw golf 8. Ive been to him multiple times for both performance and car care. Hes done a great job. Hes got my 315 hp vw running at 470. Its like a new car.
