5 /5 Nicholas C: Im not one to leave many reviews, but I will write one for Dr. Woods and his team, because finding a decent dental practice for the long term is such a trying experience in this town. Ive just had my first experience with them and I was pleasantly surprised and relieved how it went.
The administrative staff were great, unfailingly polite, and easy to talk to on the phone and in person, and scheduling was easy and my issues with insurance were worked out with their help. The lead time for a new patient appointment wasnt egregious (a week or two), unlike some other places.
The office itself is clean and quaint, nothing fancy, but nice and welcoming with big windows. Check-in was easy and the appointment started on time with little wait. The initial intake, exam and x-rays were professionally done by Connie, and everything that was happening was explained well. Despite the quaint feel of the place, the use of technology seemed modern and up to par.
Dr. Woods is young, engaging and straightforward, and I appreciate his exam and review (some places you see the dentist extremely briefly or not at all).
Lastly, my biggest stress of going to the dentist is not the poking and prodding with drills and needles, but the surprise sticker shock you get when you feel a dentist is springing unnecessary costs on you for treatment as you sit in that chair. Luckily before this initial exam and as we put together my treatment plan as the exam went on, the staff made it a point to be honest and upfront about the cost of every step and procedure and left it up to me to make an informed decision on accepting, delaying, or declining something according to my needs, insurance, and budget. I never felt pressure, but instead felt informed and supported. Once again this is a huge relief.
Thanks to the team for a nice experience, and I never thought Id say it for a dentist, but Im looking forward to my next time seeing them!
