5 /5 Sarah Smith Lintemuth: If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. I am 7 weeks post op, total thyroidectomy and also a healthy 30 weeks pregnant. When I first met Dr Ho in September of this year he was attentive, compassionate and concerned that whatever action plan to surgically remove the papillary carcinoma would require 2 patients doctors approvals, both me and baby. Dr Hos plan, with the total support and consensus of my OB team, to perform the surgery at 23 weeks instead of waiting until after the baby birth is, I believe, the reason I am not looking at RAI follow-up treatment. The tumor was removed in entirety, no trace of invasion into lymph nodes or anywhere else in the neck. Had I elected to wait another 6+ months, I do not believe I would have had the same outcome. My healing has been steady and without complications.
The expectation of feeling rushed and overwhelmed from diagnosis to surgery in less than 90 days were diminished greatly due to the fantastic care I received from Dr Hos entire team and Winter Park Hospital, pre-op, recovery and post op.
